Cylch Meithrin Rhuthun was established 60 years ago and is one of the oldest in Wales.

The Cylch is regularly inspected by ESTYN, Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales and Mudiad Ysgol Meithrin.

We pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have built with parents and guardians over the years, and we have a strong tradition of providing high quality pre-school education. We welcome the parents/guardians to be involved in all aspects of Cylch Meithrin Rhuthun’s life, and, indeed, parents are primarily responsible for fundraising.

As parents, we are aware of how important it is for you to feel that you are choosing the best education for your child, and therefore your child will receive the best care and education at Cylch Meithrin Rhuthun. Welsh is the language of the Cylch Meithrin but we give all children a warm welcome, no matter the language spoken at home.

Our aim is to promote the education and development of children from two years of age to school age. Children have the opportunity to socialise and learn through play under the guidance of our professional, friendly and enthusiastic staff.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of our work please do not hesitate to contact us.

Cylch Ti a Fi (Baby and Toddler Groups)

We welcome each and every one with open arms to our Cylchoedd Ti a Fi as we believe that every child has the right to learn Welsh and that every child should be given an equal opportunity to do so.

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy yourself – and don’t worry if you don’t speak Welsh as everyone is welcome at the Cylch Ti a Fi!

Cylch Ti a Fi is held every Thursday in the Presbyterian Church in Ruthin between 10-11:30am.

  • Anti Kate

    Leader

I live in Bryn Saith Marchog with my husband Emrys. I have 3 children who are now grown up - Tryfan, Gwennol and Gwyddon.

I started working for Cylch Meithrin Rhuthun in 2008 and since 2010 I have led the team of enthusiastic and fun staff.

Working to ensure the best care for each child is paramount to me, I love seeing the children develop their characters, confidence and willingness to take the next step. There is nothing better than hearing the children playing happily, singing, chatting and laughing.

I have gained a Level 5 Diploma qualification in Leadership for Child Care, Learning and Development (Advanced Practice), Elklan Language Builders Level 3, and I am working towards becoming a Level 3 Forest School Leader.

I have many interests including gardening, sewing, Penny the spaniel, singing with Rhuthun Choir and as a soloist all over Wales.

  • Anti Myra

    Assistant

I have lived in Rhuthun for over 30 years with my husband Steve. I have 3 children and 9 grandchildren.

I have been working at Cylch Meithrin Rhuthun for three years, and enjoy being with the children every day. I have worked in schools and care settings for years and hold a Level 3 Qualification in Child Care and Development.

Outside the Cylch I enjoy calligraphy, crystal art, walking, looking after my grandchildren and... jumping out of planes!
